So, Diane has a friend with a cycle shop, who has a website that needs an extreme makeover. She decided to do it for them and enlisted my help. Friday we started with a basic layout. We said OK the rest will be easy, let’s meet online tomorrow and figure out the rest. Well we missed each other somehow, I didn’t see Diane at all Saturday. I got online today at about 11 or so, and when she saw me come online she said “Where have you been good for nothing?” HA. She had completed nearly all of it, just this morning since 5 am. Well BLOW ME AWAY! We’ll post the site again when we switch over from the old to the new, then you’ll see the makeover, hehe.

Today was slow! I just worked on my coupon site a little, but most of the day I looked pretty much like the image at the top of this page, with my feet up in the air. Right now I’m playing poker online, but I think I’ll go watch King Arthur. Ahhh, It’s good to have a slow day once in awhile.

I started another site recently, AFTER fighting the ever-growing theory of CSS is better than Tables. I actually started this site in CSS and XHTML but after hours of the trial and error process, I decided that for THIS site, tables would be better. The reasons I decided this are: 1. My client, Don Edwards, was in a bit of a hurry and I can throw a Table-type site together in record time; and 2. with the type of e-commerce site that he wanted, it would have LOOKED the same either way. I think it works well. We gave the finelineweb.com site a makeover. Why? 1. I’m never satisfied with my own site. 2. Again, Rich was harassing me about switching from using tables to using CSS.

Father knows best. I had a challenging time learning CSS but I believe I’ve finally got it down and I have to admit, I DO love the flexibility it gives me. The first table-less site I actually created (just recently) was The Yellow Rose. I really loved the finished results, so decided to go ahead and do the big changeover on Fineline.

I didn’t want to start a blog. Blogs are HOT HOT HOT right now but I just didn’t want to do it. Why? Because to me it looked like a fancier version of a forum, and because I had no clue where to start anyway! However, my friend (and I might say mentor) Rich harassed me to no end, “Get a blog! You need a Blog! Your clients will appreciate it! Blog this Blog that!” Now, being that Rich is a web design sensei in my opinion, I usually try to follow his advice. But on this one I was very reluctant. But I’ve finally given in. And for those of you who (like me not long ago) don’t even know what a BLOG is exactly, read on.
