Which common English word has the most definitions?
Rules: NO CHEATING! DO NOT GOOGLE IT or look up the question in ANY search engine. You MAY, however, use dictionary.com or any other dictionary to look up random words and count the number of definitions.
Just take a few guesses. Think about it and I’ll set the timer to 3 days. Guess as many times as you want. If you are the first person to guess correctly, you win a long, sweet, gushy, mushy post in this blog about your blog.
Ready, Set, GO!

Hehe I know the answer but my first guess was: “be”
HMMMM! If your first guess was BE, why do you know the answer? And how many definitions does BE have? lol
Cos you said no google searches. I guessed first then googled it
cheater cheater pumpkin eater!
Everyone else is thinking.
I’m wondering are you using homonyms, LOL. AND does this include listings in slang dictionaries? My choice is Democrat
hehe. No slang dictionary. No homonyms. No Democrats! Just one word, same spelling, very common, with several definitions for it listed in the regular dictionary.
CLUE: One syllable
well there is a rather coarse Anglo=Saxcon word
beginning with F one sylable that has a primary meaning of intercourse but has about 15 ancillary meanings
Oh it is in dictioanry, com used that site to try to count the number
Now I have a question what is a CLEAN word one syllable ending in K that means intercourse?
HMMMMMM let me think. LOL
By the way Dan, my word is in dictionary.com too. It’s clean. I’m still stumped on your word.
LUCK?
It’s day three and there are no more guesses? Hmm ok one last clue then. The word is in my original post.
