I didn’t realize it until Sam pointed it out to me, but this theme had display problems in IE. In trying to correct it, one problem led to another until I decided to re-do the entire thing from scratch, which brings us to the second version of the Just A Girl theme. It is the theme you see now on this blog.

This theme is very easy to customize. 3-columns, 100 percent width.
I’m not nerly so rad in my approach to theming… just grabbed one from blogger’s set and tweaked it very minimally to suit me. Oh, I did finally put up a graphic in my head. Several months ago, I e-ed a guy asking permission to mod one of his photos and use it, warning him that I’d take silence as consent. Finally decided to just do it… heh
Minor quibble with your blogroll–VERY minor
It’s third world county (no “R” in “county”)
Not a big deal. R’Cat (Cathouse Chat) and The Mary Hunter (TMH’s Bacon Bits) exchanged recent comments about doing that a lot w/my blog title. Most of the “blogburst” blogrolls I’m on have taken several shots at getting that darn “R” outa there, too.
Minor quibble.
Especially since I’m honored to be on your blogroll to begin with.

You know, that just blows my mind though. Every single time I’ve been to your site, my mind has added the R and that’s what I saw, Country. Hm. Funny stuff.
ROTFL I did that too! Caught it when I was adding him to my blogroll then saw the “county” not “country”.

Great new theme! Now if I could only figure out how to do this for Sam. Last time I tried to upgrade to a theme from MoveableType it went completely wonkers.
I don’t know anything about Moveable Type. I downloaded it once to give it a try, but really messed something up in the installation. With Wordpress it’s very easy to switch themes, just download the one you want(or make one), upload it, and click a button.
Yeah Movable Type is ridiculously hard, WP is MUCH easier to use, and user-friendly to boot.

Is the theme you have on your site right now identical to the downloadable one? When I install it it acts differently. The middle column isn’t centered in the IE and there is a horizontal scroll on both FF and IE. I noticed the style.css is different so I was wondering if there were any other changes as well and if so could you provide them for the download.
i love the theme and would love to be able to use it.

OK SAM!!! Here it is, you can still change all the colors and images, but now you can download version 2, which I’ve taken the entire day to create, lol…
And on this one to put a banner beneath the top menu, just put a break after the menu and then your banner.

hey, those IE display probs with the original version–was it that the middle/2nd menu (the one in front of the red part of the bg) was all bouncy? i’ve seen this before on other wordpress blog themes, and have never been able to figure out why it’s happening. did you ever crack it?
No, that’s not what it was… what do you mean by bouncy anyway? I’ve seen bouncy caused by google adsense ads too.
not sure how to explain that ‘bounciness’–didn’t mark any of the places I’ve seen it. it’s like, hitting a rollover img that’s in a table cell, and the image trying to ‘roll-up’ is larger than the cell. so that everything that was formerly ’single-space’ is suddenly popping to ‘double-space.’ that kind of bounciness. an IE thing.
so, what was that IE display problem you were having?
The entire middle section (the posts) was only covering half of the middle, I couldn’t get it to reach all the way to the right section no matter what I did. Only in IE though, of course, lol.
