Has anyone else noticed this besides me? Lately on television, ALL new television shows, you hear the word “Excited” wayyyy too much. I’ve noticed it so much lately, that this weekend I decided to count how many times I heard the word “excited” on TV. I don’t watch television much, but even so I heard the word 27 times in one weekend.
I’m so excited.
This is exciting.
How do you feel? Excited.
I’m very excited about…
I challenge you to listen for the word “excited” or “exciting” the next time you watch TV for a few hours, and comment here to tell me how many times you heard it.

I’m about to lose control and I think I like it.
Sorry, inside voice.
Were you doing an 80s dance too? lol
LOL. At my 10 year HS reunion, I was dancing (drunk) with my old buddies when reality slapped me and I realized that I dance like Belinda Carlisle did in those old Go-Go’s videos. And that would be the extent of my 80’s dance moves. Though there was that incident at Senior Prom where I dirty danced with a popular girl’s date. heh.
Does it count if I hear it on the History or Discovery channel? Because even exciting stuff there isn’t really exciting. LMAO
YES, that’s TV too! and LMFAO @ Dragonlady
how exciting, did not noticed it but probably now i will
synonyms for excited…

send this to the networks so instead of of saying “how exciting,” they could say “Oh, how rip-roaring!”
just a thought.
(i hope this doesn’ double-post. That would suck)
Hehe. Too funny
I think you’re very excitable
Rich, don’t get me over-excited.
Well I just counted 17 in this post alone. And woah, I have to say that was, You guessed it, “Exciting!”.
PS: Make that 18 now. tee hee hee. :p
All this excitement is too much for my heart!
Lol, talk about beating a term to death… I’m excited about going to watch tv to see how many “excited”’s I can find.
After this messes with my mind, I’m going to start saying, “I’m having a jolly good time” rather than “this is exciting”, or I’ll end up in the loony bin.
Sam, PLEASE count the exciteds and let me know. I’m curious to know if Canada is as exciting as the US.
Nah. Doesn’t excite me.
But what’d ya expect from a curmudgeonly sort like me?
;-)
just be original and make up a new word for exciting.
like maybe….er….
im drawin a blank.
gniticxe? just spell and say it backwards.
deticxe
tnemeticxe
na. those sound like one of the poopy languages where a conversation sounds like people are just clearing their throats.

Is ANYONE gonna tell me how many exciteds they’ve heard on TV since reading this? lol
Note to MM: texdice
Mel - since I saw this, and have been counting - NONE! lol
*sigh* you would have thought that script writers would have owned a thesaurus by now.. geez..
ok heres a few i like the look of..
-tumultuous
-keyed up
-disconcerted
-overwrought
(found these on http://thesaurus.reference.com/search?q=excited )
hmmm.. ya know what..maybe it’s because these words might be abit too sophisticated for most of the crap we get on tv.. half the nation probably wouldn’t even know what these words meant.. i man come on… ‘tumultuous’ isnt something ya hear everyday..
lol.. ah well..

lol Rachael! Good words
You know guys, I wasn’t necessarily talking about scripted shows, exclusively. I’m including all the celebrity interviews, regular-people interviews, news interviews, etc. I think Americans in general are stupid.
I believe I better do not start quoting Dutch TV jargon here!
Aw go ahead Boris, might be fun confusing us all.
k, I haven’t got to the Canada tv “excited”s yet, but I’ll be letting you know when I do.
Still busy counting all the “like”s from the teens that pass by me while walking to school every morning, lol.
I haven’t noticed alot of ‘exciting’s on the tv channels here in Toledo, OH, but have noticed ’sex’ or ’sexy’ showing up alot lately! hehehe
