And incidentally, her head was brown. I had a Ms. Whitehead in junior high, I hated her. And incidentally, her head was brown.

The only teacher's name that I can remember is Miss Whitehead. That wasn't until high school but she was a wonderful English teacher. Great story Mel! Thanks for the blogroll. :) Yes, I can see why some people are so touched by their teachers that they decide to become one themselves. Thanks for the blogroll. )

My favorite teacher was my second grade teacher, Mrs. Levine. A beautiful, older, grandmotherly jewish lady (she liked talking about being jewish if you'd ask). She went on vacation during school one year and brought me back a coin from England. I still have it 31 years later. Some teacher make a good impression...some a good depression. :^p Teacher #1 is a good reason to do away with tenure, eh?

I did't mean to! Well, yeah maybe I did, hehe. Myrna, you're damned sure right about that, teachers should definitely go through psychological therapy before having a room full of children put into her care every day. They also should be required to take some child psychology courses. Awwwwww, DL! I did’t mean to! Well, yeah maybe I did, hehe.

My first grade teacher's name was Mrs. Crow, and she was everything your's was. She used to single children out everyday in our morning circle and belittle them for something. I used to catch it for not sitting up straight of all things. I was an angel back then so there was nothing else she could come up with. She was awful and I blame my reluctance to speak up in school on her. It took me years to find my voice again--but boy did I find it--it came out with a vengeance. That's the silver lining. Thank god you had that other teacher--what a wonderful person she sounds like. Every teacher should be required to go through a year of intense therapy before the are allowed in the classroom.
