My client Medrep Express was frustrated at not showing up in Google (even though he did before, he seems to have dropped out), and asked me why some of his competitors who have such terrible looking sites and higher prices, always show up in the top 10.
Since I’m not a search optimization specialist, I asked someone who is (Rich, of course) for advice. He recently updated his parents’ business site, GRS signs, and moved it from no placement in Google, to number 1 placement, out of 20,000 similar sites, within a very short time.
Rich told me the simplest things to do, which I didn’t know before. Like putting all your keywords within the site in bold, italic, and to link them internally. Using h1 and h2 on your keywords, and adding rel=tag to the internal links which are keywords.
I’ve now done this on the front page of MedRep Express, and I’ll continue doing this on the other pages. If you’ll notice, we have the word SUTURES quite a lot on that front page, since that’s the real money-making product for them.
Rich tells me that if I follow his simple rules, I should see it on Google within a week. I’ll let you know.

I had to go to the site and check out the code. Because I was thinking, how the hell do you put the meta keywords in bold and italic?
Then after looking at the code, I see what you mean now.
So simply by making your links bold and italic will make you rank better? I knew about the tag thing already though. Let us know if it works.
That Rich is a wealth of useful information isn’t he? I got the IE code from him awhile back, now Dragon Lady is using it too.
YES! Not meta… but whatever your keywords are (not just links), when they’re somewhere in the site, bold and italic them. Also helps if your headers are keywords. And yes rich is full of it (information) hehe.
Like I said though, WE SHALL SEE!!!!!!!
Rich is right but there are more tricks too.
1. Repeating title of the page in the body text.
2. Naming images with “alt” and “title” coding options.
3. Avoiding use of frames.
4. Linking page to other pages.
5. Placing simple text document in the top rang of the server with the name “robots.txt” see how to make it

Waiting time is 6 weeks at least.
Good luck with it!
THanks, Boris!
Ohhhhhhhh, I could use some of these tips for my work’s website. If only I could understand half of what you’re talking about…lol. I’ll go and check the source code like Mac did and see if I can figure it out.
Good luck!
ROFL, I just sat here thinking “Maybe if I put Michelle Malkin’s name all over my blog I could maybe get noticed by Technorati and TTLB.”
DL, it might work
Linking to her however, inevitably, never gains anything back FROM her. She’s like one of those cool girls at school.
I do not even believe she’s she, I think it’s team of people from the company named Crafty Indoctrinators.
:)
LOL, Rich, that’s true. I counted her as one of my Blog Mothers and the woman STILL won’t ever even reply to an email. But that’s ok, because La Shawn Barber almost always emails me back AND links to me despite my potty mouth tendencies.
Aparently tad hilgenbrink is another keyword. Ever since I posted this post, and then a follow up of this post, the pages got a lot of weird comments.
Call the guy at Arkansas Chemical.
LMAO He got me diane!
Catching Up On Saturday…
So today I’ve done well, basically nothing.
Read a lot mind you, so I can catch up on some blogging. I bought a watch cap because it’s getting bloody cold here, and quick. And of course, obligatory food shopping, since I do need to eat ever…
