When I went to work a couple nights ago, as I pulled around the corner, there was a street blocked off with police tape, and about 5 unmarked cop cars (lights flashing inside), and 4 or 5 marked cars, and an ambulance, and a firetruck, right beside a five-level parking deck which is right behind my building.
So I parked in my usual spot in front of the building, and got out and started talking to the tech guy who was out there smoking and watching, standing on the corner. He said he didn’t know what had happened. I said I’m tempted to walk over there and watch. He said “don’t you work at the webdesk? third floor? back of the building? Perfect view.” I said YES that’s right and went in and up the elevator.
Now, I work in an office, by myself on some nights (that night), with about 6 windows facing out back. When I went in the lights were off and I realized if I kept them off, parked my ass in a chair right in front of one of the windows, it really was the perfect view of both the parking deck in question, and the street with all the cops on it. WOW, this was like watching a movie, albeit a silent one.
I watched for about 30 minutes then got up and went out of my office and asked some of the sports guys if they knew what was going on. They said no, but that one of the photogs and copy editors had just gone out there. Well, the photog could have saved his time, they weren’t going to allow any photos of this.
I waited on the first B pages to come in (Arkansas section) so I could just read what happened. With all that hooplah I expected to read that there were 4 or 5 people shot. But no, just a sad homeless guy who jumped to his death from the top of the parking deck.

Wow!
Ouch! I had the misfortune to see a guy jump from his 19th floor apartment. Didn’t see the take off, just the drop by. I lived across the street on the 12th floor. I was sitting on my balcony having a morning coffee before work when whooosh, this guy just went sailing right past me on his way down. Wonder what pain people must be in to take a leap like that?
WOWWWWWWW larry!
Larry, that must have been one hell of a morning coffee for you …
I can’t imaging how hard life has to get in order to do something like that.
I hope I never have to.
WOW what a story and that of Larry too!
Finally I understand these words from that song “it’s raining men” anyway joke aside some people are passing hell on this earth we can be only grateful to be so fortunate not to be in their shoes.
Sometimes people just give up and I guess this guy did…SADDDDD !!
LOL Boris, that was funny. We shouldn’t joke, but that was funny.
TOOO TRUE, mac and Oldschool
Must have been a slow night for crime in Little Rock. All those cars for one homeless guy.
Maybe the donut shop was shut, Diane?
Well, it was a slow night for homicide I guess. Most of them were homicide detectives, lol, and I guess they thought it was homicide before they got there.
That would be wierd!I would have asked what was happening before I went inside tho. But thats just me
Well, I thought about it Lori, but you see, the street was entirely blocked off with police tape, and I couldn’t have reached anyone without crossing over. Yes I DID have my press badge on, but that’s not really my job and I was scared one of our reporters may have been in there and would say HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE? GET TO WORK SLAVE! lol
I gotcha,I gotcha!!
straight guys ass raped
